It's a pretty good piece of equipment However it's not everything it could be. Especially for over $300! The technology isn't better than most every Tecsun I have in my collection. In fact my little PL330 and PL368 are way better at Scanning!! They have ETM! The H-501x does not and it shows because it's horrible at scanning! Now as far as that Boombox sound goes, it's okay on very strong Shortwave stations. In short, it doesn't cut the muster!
