I fish all the time and have 6 rods that have never broken on me. I say not heavy duty because a 2’ Catfish was what it broke from. On top of that, the reel holder is smaller than usual, making it extremely hard to attach. You may even need to buy another reel. That being said, the seller communicated very quickly to any problems I had and was willing to offer a partial refund.
