Seller was aware of this when I mentioned it, and offered a workaround but that had potential repercussions to damage the Sennheiser phones or the lead itself. I've looked, but all the non-Sennheiser leads are built this way. It may come in handy for another application and was worth it for the possibility of not having to fork out over £90 quid for the originals, if I could find any!!

The cable is rather lightweight but seems to work fine. Not sure how long it will last, even with careful use. The reason for deducting a star is that it is stated to be the replacement cable for Sennheiser HD477 headphones, but the original Sennheiser cable was around 3 m in length, and not the 50 inch/1.28 m length supplied, which is rather short. The length should have been stated.
