Synopsis
In this volume, marine experts describe the principal components of the Gulf of Mexico Large Marine Ecosystem. They include observations on human induced stress on the system and mitigating actions underway to improve the prospects for achieving greater long-term socioeconomic benefits from the ecosystem. The natural resources of the Gulf are important to the economy of the coastal border states of the United States and Mexico. Of particular importance to the coastal population centers are the fish and fisheries resources, recreational facilities, offshore oil production, and the wide diversity of fish, bird, and mammal species. Among the problems reviewed in the volume are the increasing incidence and extent of harmful algal blooms, oxygen depletion events, pollution hot-spots, loss of wetlands, and losses of fishery productivity and yield through overexploitation and by-catch discards., In this volume, marine experts describe the principal components of the Gulf of Mexico Large Marine Ecosystem. - c***f (396)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoGood condition copy of an old book from the 1990s. Missing the insert booklet with reference material but you can’t have everything. Cover scuffed as described but interior and binding good. Packed in a plastic bag, inside a card sleeve for armour, and inside a padded envelope - thank you for looking after the book in transit. Posted in good time. Top eBayer! Made my day to get the book today!
- a***l (12)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoFantastic addition to my collection, and when I saw the book arrived from another local Rhode Islander, it made the purchase all the better! Condition as described, carefully packaged, and speedy shipping. Athough the book has an inscription from prior owner (accurately disclosed by seller), I was so pleased to see the book was originally a prom dance gift from 1876. How wonderful! Thank you for a transparent and seamless buying experience, and your book will be in great hands!
