(2013 'Delmark') 66:16/14<br>Produced by Dick Shurman at Delmark's Riverside Studios in Chicago. Lurrie Bell, born in 1958, has been a mainstay of Chicago's colorful blues scene since emerging with the New Generation of Chicago Blues in 1978, along with band mate Billy Branch. Once regarded a renovator of the blues, he today stands as a keeper of the blues tradition. His vocal style is reflecting the hard times he went through, and his guitar playing is as good as ever, elegant and emotional. Classics Chicago blues style, old-fashioned, inspired by the music of his father, Carey Bell, and his Godfather, Eddie C. Campbell. A very good one.
