LP a copertina apribile. Rara edizione del 1979, a 10 tracce, con inserto di 2 pagine contenente foto in bianco e nero, con note biografiche e discografiche in giapponese. Larga OBI a colori a sfondo giallo riportante il prezzi di Yen 2.500.

Off the wall è il primo lavoro solista di Jackson ad aver avuto un successo strepitoso tanto da screditare le critiche che volevano la sua carriera conclusa dopo il divorzio con la casa discografica Motown nel 1975. Quincy Jones, il direttore musicale del film della Motown The Wiz (nel quale Michael Jackson interpreta Scarecrow) si addossò la produzione dell'album, composto da testi e musiche di Jackson, Rod Temperton, Stevie Wonder, e Paul McCartney. A più di 25 anni dalla sua prima pubblicazione, Off the Wall rimane l'album con cui Michael Jackson iniziò ad imporsi nel panorama musicale mondiale come King of Pop. Nel 2003 il network televisivo VH1 nominò Off the Wall il 36° album più importate di tutti i tempi. L'album che seguì a questo, Thriller, ebbe però molto più successo. In occasione dei 30 anni di carriera di Michael Jackson, Off the Wall venne riproposto nel 2001 in Edizione Speciale con 2 Bonus Tracks e alcune interviste rilasciate. Attualmente, Off the Wall ha venduto oltre 21 milioni di copie nel mondo. Nel 2003 Off The Wall entrò nella lista dei 500 migliori album secondo Rolling Stone al numero 68.

Off the wall is the first solo release from Jackson to have had a tremendous success both from critics who wanted to discredit his career ended after his divorce with Motown in 1975. Quincy Jones, music director of the Motown film The Wiz (in which Michael Jackson plays Scarecrow) leaned against the production of the album, composed lyrics and music by Jackson, Rod Temperton, Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney. More than 25 years since its first publication, Off the Wall remains the album with Michael Jackson which began to dominate the world music scene as the King of Pop. In 2003 the TV network VH1 named Off the Wall album the 36th most amount of all ages. The album that followed this, Thriller, however, had much more success. During the 30-year career of Michael Jackson, Off the Wall was revived in 2001 Special Edition with 2 Bonus Tracks and some interviews. Currently, Off the Wall "has sold over 21 million copies worldwide. Off The Wall in 2003 joined the list of the 500 greatest albums of Rolling Stone at number 68.
