Die Serie begann in den 1966 mit der SL66, produziert bis 1986, und endete ca.1997/98 mit der Produktionseinstellung des letzten Modells, SL66SE.
Perfekte Verarbeitung gepaart mit einzigartigen Ausstattungsmerkmalen und höchster Vielseitigkeit. Extreme Robustheit und Zuverlässigleit.
Ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal bei 6x6 Kameras war der integrierte Balgenauszug, der Nahaufnahmen ohne weiteres Zubehör ermöglichte und zusätzlich zur Schärfenebenenerweiterung nach oben und unten tiltbar war. Zudem die einzigen 6x6 Kameras, die das umgekehrt Ansetzen von Objektiven für Makrophotographie ohne zusätzliches Zubehör ermöglichten.
Dazu ein excellentes Objektivprogramm von Carl Zeiss.

Original superbly manufactured and superbly performing was the series of top 6x6 medium formate cameras made by Rollei, the so-called SL66 series.
Started in 1966 with the first model SL66 (produced until 1986!), this series ended in about b1997/98 after culminating in the last model, SL66SE.
Perfectly manufactured, superb solidness and reliability, top performance and highest versatility were the characteristics of this series.
The SL66 series beeing the only 6x6 cameras featuring an incorporated bellows extension for close-ups without further accessories, the bellows also beeing tiltable up- and downwards for more depth-of-field. Also the only 6x6 camera series where lenses could be reverse-mounted for stronger macro facility without further accessories.
Plus the fantastic lens range by Carl Zeiss.
