Courtois AC154-2 Professional Flugel Horn – silver
This Courtois AC154-2 Flugel Horn (serial no.
29457) is a used instrument. This is a professional instrument that we
supplied from new to our customer in January 2011, and it was then returned to
us in June 2014 in exchange for a new Courtois flugel horn (this time lacquer
for a darker sound). The instrument has a silver plate finish.
The 154 model has a big and strong bright sound
which is best suited to brass band work. It has the standard yellow brass bell
(which you cannot see as it is under the silver plate).
We keep all the models in stock should you want to
visit our showroom to test the alternatives. The 155 model is just the same,
but with an extra trigger on the 1st tuning slide. This model (the
154) has just one trigger, on the 3rd tuning slide.
The band looked after this very well and so it
remains in very good condition.
“A professional instrument ideally suited to the brass band
musician, with a rich mellow sound that blends in any playing environment. The
single trigger model in the Courtois range.”

to a total of £125.00.
Cosmetically the instrument is also in very good
condition. The only minor flaws I can notice is a small scratch on the bottom
bow near the stay that connects to the mouth pipe, and some small scratches to
the plating inside the bell.
The case functions and operates perfectly with working
latches and handle. Cosmetically there are some scuff marks but the case is
generally in good condition.

Instruments is a music shop which has specialised in selling and repairing
brass and woodwind musical instruments since 1967. It was founded by Trevor
Austin (father of Paul) who was previously a euphonium player in the Horse
Guards (and played on horseback at the Queen’s Coronation). Following long
service in the Salvation Army as a player and conductor, his reputation led to
requests to supply instruments around the UK and overseas. Rosehill is now led
by Trevor’s son Paul, who was awarded a Government contract in 1999, and since
that time Rosehill has been the supplier of musical instruments to Her
Majestey’s Military bands. We also service and brass band and military band
instruments at our workshops in Beaconsfield, many of which are then supplied
